Today's article rings so true for me. I've spent so much time trying to feel better by changing my relationships with what is outside of me. Real progress has come as I've learned to work from the inside out. Candace, when you bare your soul in such a meaningful way it helps us to know that these issues are universal, and that working through them is what we're here to do.

Anne and I recently went to Newberry. When we got back we couldn't find one of her hearing aids. The app on the phone said we had left it behind in Newberry. Our friends couldn't find it there. Later we found it in the car. it had been with us all the time.

I'd like to share the lyrics of a song I wrote in 2013:

I am whole, I am free,

When I go within to Spirit I become all I can be.

I listen and hear, that's the key.

When I go within to Spirit who I am is who I see.

I can be of service when I'm strong.

Either speaking, caring, or singing a song.

Giving and receiving, helping others, loving me,

When I go within to Spirit who I am is who I see.

So glad the essay landed with you, David, and helped you in some way. I think it's valuable for us to be vulnerable with each other so we can see our common struggles, which can help us see our common divinity as well! Thank you for sharing your lyrics. I always appreciate your music, your spirit and your heart. Much love!

This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Side note, I see you and Fred are in Asheville? I live in Charleston and have family in Asheville so I visit often. I should be up mid February. I would love to meet for coffee if possible. Much Love, Peyton
